Bardem passed on playing Farrell’s part in ‘Minority Report’
Los Angeles, Sep 12 PTI : The Oscar winning actor, Javier Bardem, said he refused Colin Farrell’s role in “Minority Report” when it was offered to him.
The 2002 science fiction film was directed by Steven Spielberg and celebrated Tom Cruise, Samantha Morton with Farrell.
Although Bardem revealed that he was a big fan of Spielberg, he said he was not ready to approach the film at the time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“When I met him (Spielberg), I was really struck by stars,” recalled Bardem at the presentation of a master class at the Toronto International Film Festival.
“But at the time, it was difficult for me to jump in a foreign language.” “My English is better now, you can not believe it, but it’s better.”
The 48-year-old star is in Toronto to promote “Mother!”, Darren Aronofsky’s psychological thriller, where he co-starred with Jennifer Lawrence.
The festival will run until 17 September.
