Bhagat slams Twitter critics of ‘Five Point Someone’ in DU
New Delhi, Apr 25 : The writer Chetan Bhagat has taken over Twitter to react to the critical reception of the decision of the University of Delhi to include his first novel “Five Point Someone” in one of his courses.
“Can understand elitists, fake, stupid, bloody, Indian guys are angry.” DU added my books in their course. “My sympathies,” he tweeted.
The passage for the book to be one of the options for the document on popular literature in the generic elective course, has been met with online reviews with #fivepointsomeone trends.
“#fivepointsomeone of the next DU move will include ’50 Gray shades’ in the psychology syllabus,” said one tweet.
A user wrote: “When you have #chechanbhagat in your syllabus, you have the ability to do half-literate #FivePointSomeone #DU.”
Several tweets, some addressed to the Minister of Defense of Human Rights, Prakash Javadekar, also questioned the eligibility of Bhagat’s book to qualify as good literature.
“Does #FivePointSomeone qualify as good literature because it is now part of the #delhiuniversity program.
@PrakashJavdekar @HRDMinistry, “wrote a Twitter user.
