Deepti Naval wants film studio in Shimla
Shimla, Sep 10 PTI : The veteran actor Deepti Naval, who inaugurated the Shimla International Film Festival, called for the establishment of a film school or a film studio.
The two-day film festival is organized by Himalayan Velocity with the support of the Himachal Language, Art and Culture Department at the historic Gaiety Theater.
“The people of Bollywood are going down on Shimla for shooting movies, so why should we not have the facilities of the movie studio,” Naval said.
A total of 46 documentaries, short films, animations and feature films will be screened in the competitive and non-competitive category and 35 film-makers from 23 countries will participate.
“I am so excited to come to Shimla that there was no way to stay away from the festival.
“Why once a year alone is a fantastic initiative and should receive support from all sides,” said the actor.
The festival entries included films from Singapore, Australia, Portugal, South Korea, Hong Kong, Italy, Nepal, Bhutan, Germany, France, United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Canada, Poland, Switzerland, Japan, Turkey, Oman, Tajikistan, Iran and India.
