I embrace my unconventionalness: Kalki Koechlin
Mumbai, Sep 12 PTI : With films such as “Dev D”, “That Girl in Yellow Boots” and “Margarita with a Straw” to his credit, Kalki Koechlin never followed the conventional path that a female actress would take.
The actor claims that she likes to be labeled as “unconventional” because it’s her unique character that make her beautiful.
“Beauty is an enormous thing, we tend to look at beauty from a commercial angle, and uniqueness is another kind of beauty.
In what you point out, this is what makes you beautiful.
“I am always told that I am an unconventional actor and I consider this inappropriate, for that is what I am, beauty not only concerns the external beauty but also the refinement of your personality, “Kalki said at an event here.
The actor was circled as the ambassador of the brand Cosmic branded Oriflame to launch the campaign – ‘A Beautiful Change’.
The brand aims to empower women and Kalki believes that gender equality is still needed in society when it comes to sharing responsibilities at home.
“Today we live in a society where jobs and education are offered to women, but they still lack confidence as women are pressured to marry. Some laws are patriarchal.
“I think that domestic responsibility should also be shared at home.” You can not have women in the office but not at home. “This balance is a big challenge,” she said.
On the working front, Kalki will then be seen in “Jia Aur Jia”, alongside Richa Chadha and “Ribbon”.
“I have two films ‘Jia Aur Jia’ with Richa (Chadha).
They are two girls en route to Sweden. It will be at the end of October and there will be an independent film “Ribbon” in November.
